IMAGINE PEACE

GRACE Pilgrimage
by Leila Dregger

Dear Imagine-Peace-People:
I want to share about our GRACE-Pilgrimage: We walked with 168 people by foot through the desert from Eilat to Jerusalem, adults and children, people from Israel, Palestine and many countries, for four weeks. We walked through Israel and the Westbank. We slept in the sand, and we were hosted in Kibbuzim, settlements, Bedouin villages, army camps, and Palestinian refugee camps. We spoke with everybody. What we found were people, humans, children. Not enemies. The only enemy we found was the ignorance of people behind walls, not knowing each other, being afraid of each other. The last night we spent in front of the separation wall in the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem. We stayed awake the whole night, meditating and imagining: What will peace look like in this country?

What will peace look like in Israel-Palestine?

Best wishes to you, shalom and salam
