IMAGINE PEACE

Tamera Peace Research Center, Portugal

by Leila Dregger

Dear Yoko,

Thank you for your personal reply! And thank you for putting the message about our GRACE pilgrimage on your website. It is impressive to look through your work – and through the inspiring messages that you and John Lennon created.

War is over – if you want it.

If you can imagine a world of peace, then it can be true.

One can still feel, that these strong thoughts you and John promoted so early on and so courageously, have been inspired by the love you shared. It touches me how you have turned your mourning the death of your loved one into compassion for the world and into a strong will for global peace: No more children should die in wars, of starvation, or as refugees! We need to have a strong and global alliance of worldwide peace workers in order to reach that!

It also touches me how you have used art to visualise peace.

For me your lines are absolutely true and today, these can even be explained in scientific terms. These lines could also be the motto for the Peace Research Center of Tamera.

Dieter Duhm & Sabine Lichtenfels

Its founders, Sabine Lichtenfels and Dieter Duhm, started it thirty years ago maybe with a similar impulse like you and John had. Both of you have been a great inspiration.

Today Tamera is a training and experimental site for the construction of Peace Villages around the world. We are teaching and developing concrete models for a peace culture. These are ecologically and socially sustainable villages, with hightec solar energy systems. The work unites people from different cultures who work and research together on social and ecological structures for peace, for truth in love and for friendship among all beings.

This is no science fiction – it is truly happening – in the South of Portugal. 160 people from many parts of the world, children, youth, and adults, are living, working, and studying studing togehter. We have started to build up a global network to spread the news, to build up the next Peace Research Villages, in Israel-Palestine, in Colombia and other countries to follow.

Once several such peace villages throughout the world will have been created many more people will be able to imagine what peace is like. In what kind of houses will we live? What will we eat? How do the communities look like? How do we resolve our conflicts? How will the children grow up? Tamera is a role model where answers are found and developed in practise. Later on, these can be adopted in other places.

Here is also the link to a longer brochure that could be interesting for you: GRACE – Movement for a Free Earth.

It shows some of the inspiring background thoughts, people and initiatives in other countries and continents who are also involved.

I would very much like for us to stay in contact. Now is the time that all people who truly want peace and are creating the vision for it must come together.

You are very welcome to visit Tamera, to stay in our guesthouse and see it happen.

Season greetings, and best and heartfelt wishes

Leila

Dear Leila, thank you for sending us a very important information: Peace Village. Yes. There will be more and more peace villages around the world, until one day, the whole world will be peace village of the Universe. We will be called Peace Planet, and many beings will come visit us from other planets to get a whiff of our Peace Air. Yes. I think we should connect to GRACE as well. Every information will keep inspiring and encouraging us. We are a very lucky family. Lots of love, yoko
